2/28/2007 Estreitta 1 Comments

I have rearranged my top Friends (with the Exception of the First 8) with some of my Favorite Musicians/Artist/ Worship Leaders.  Some Of them are indie Bands and some are Globally recognized in the Christian Music industry. Take time to visit their myspace pages and have your self a listen i hope it blesses you as much as it blesses us!!!! I do have all of these artists currently playing on my Ipod!

Klaus

Erik And I discovered Klaus through Christ for the Nations (CFNI) in Dallas Texas.  They have a monthly Night of Worship the 2nd Friday of the month.  We went to a 40 Days of Prayer Meeting at CFNI last year and heard Klaus lead Worship.  It was very anointed and you could feel the presence of God during the service.  His Music is a breath of Fresh air to us and reignited our passion for worship again, which had began to feel stale to us until we discovered Klaus. Every Song of Klaus' is great!

Parachute Band

The Parachute Band has been a long time favorite of ours.  The Parachute band that we had become familiar with has passed the mantle on to this new group of Guys, Same heart for Worship.  We are looking forward to hearing and entering into worship with their music in the coming years!

Live in Japan - Now this band is a band close to my heart.  They are dear friends of mine and I have been really blessed by thier music and friendship!!

Rita Springer is one of the best female worship leaders i have ever heard.  Whe leads with her passion and heart for God.  I recently heard a podcast that she spoke at the Soul Survivor Church in California.  I had heard her music before and it touched my soul and really ministered to me.  I have a few songs of hers on my myspace music player you HAVE to check her music outt!!!

I recently posted a Blog about them,  This is an AWESOME new Worship CD. I just downloaded  all the songs off of thier myspace and in the process of uploading it to my ipod cause i want to listen to it where ever I go!!!!

David Crowder Band was recently honored with MSN Artist of the year and beat out the likes of Prince, Christina Aguileria, INXS...  They have come out of the PASSION Conferences with Chris Tomlin, Matt Redmon....  They are PHENOMENAL Worship leaders with unique sound and yet the truth is sang with every word! My Favorite Songs are Rain Down, Intoxicating Joy and O Praise Him! Man Alive all their music is phenomenal!

We discovered Jared's song Rescue through a Night of Worship at Christ for the Nations. He was part of the Desparation Band out of Colorado and recently branched out on his own. He is a fabulous worship leader.  I had it as my profile song a while back.  Rescue is a song that really makes me remember that God is in control and taking care of everthing.

Kari Jobe went to Christ for the Nations, and is featured on the Overtaken CD with Klaus.  She is currently is one of the Worship leaders at Gateway Church in Southlake Texas.  She has an amazing voice and really is annointed! Revelation Song (off of the Overtaken CD from CFNI Music) is one of those songs you will be humming all day long

Elizabeth Clark is another worship leader out of Christ for the Nations.  She currently is a worship leader at High Point Church in Arlington Texas.  the songs that she writes really speak to my heart especially her song When I Speak your Name

I have recently discovered Aaron through Myspace music search really good. i just love the sound of his voice and could listen to it all the time!!!

Shawn McDonald

Shawn McDonald is one of my FAVORITE Christian Artists right now.  His Lyrics, Music, and Style are just so uplifting.  we went to a concert of his afew months ago at Hope Works in Fort Worth and it was packed... Take My Hand is one of th best Songs i have heard in a long time!!!

Blaine and Leah Howard this duo have been performing together for a long time.  I went to college with both of them.  I remember when Leah and I were roomies during a summer and I would beg her to play and sing cause I just loved to listen to her sweet beautiful voice.  If you are looking for some great music for you next road trip Blaine and Leah Howard is the cd you absolutely want in your player!!!

We learned about Lifehouse's music through CFNI and our church.  They came out of the Vineyard Malibu Church in their teens and you can hear their songs played both on Christian and secular stations across the country.  Everything is one of the best worship songs i have heard in a long time!!!!!

While driving home late at night crying out to God about how I thought my dreams we so far out of reach to me and didn't know how it was going to ever happen like i had envisioned (a mother, in the ministry full time, debt free, a worship leader, a author...) a song by Charity Von came on the radio called In our Presence --- as the song played my tears of dispair became tears of joy and peace and gave me assurance the God was taking care of everthing and I need to just seek his presence.  Here is some of the lyrics -

In Your Presence
In Your Presence – I find comfort
In Your Presence – I find peace
In Your Presence – I surrender
Lord I give you all of me
In Your Presence – I fall on my knees
For you are worthy
In Your Presence - I hear angels sing
Holy – Holy – Is the Lamb of God

It is great Stuff!!!God is So Good!!! He always meets you where you are when you need it!!!

Sara Groves is really kewl.  My Best friend Mandy totally loves her music! i dig her kewl crisp voice and She is from Mpls so its gotta be good!!!

Jason Upton is another guy from Northwestern and went on to be a wonderful music leader. He is releasing an upcoming live album in april.  it should be awesome.  Jason leads lots of worship services throughout country.  I discovered that he was leading worship through the  International House of Prayer Ministry in Kansas City, MO

Conversations with God

2/16/2007 Estreitta 1 Comments

I think God really wants to have a conversation with us...

Not just a one way conversation with us asking him for stuff you know.... don't get me wrong cause I think it is ok to ask. cause it is biblical (ask and you shall receive seek and you shall find, knock and the door will be open).

When I was younger and wasn't bothered with the cares of this life, it was so easy for me to just sit and wait on the Lord to speak to me in that still small voice.

Today as a 31 year old married woman with no children but a deep desire to have many and have been unable to for the past 5 years, with a car payment, a mortgage and student loans to pay with only one paycheck sustaining us...it can be a little more difficult to have a two way conversation with God when bombarded with so much need.

This week i have been sick with a bad sinus cold...not able to breath, talk much and sleeping lots, sneezing and coughing more and loaded with lots of drugs i had an epiphany today when I came across this video....

My conversations with God lately have been one sided and I need to allow him to speak to me like i remember he used to before i let my fears, guilt and perceptions in the way.

Several years ago in the most deepest darkest time in my life when I was going through what felt like hell on earth, My God, My Saviour picked me up out of my mess i made and reminded me He has a purpose for me to fullfill. i (as are you) was put on this earth and created to fullfull a purpose that He for ordained before he even formed the universe and I had allowed my self to get in the way of What he wanted for me.

So Today I commit to having a two way conversation with God and quit trying to fix everything and just continue to seek him and allow him to order my steps.

Lord I pray that you open my ears to hear my eyes to see and my heart to receive the truth you speak to me and that you continue to empower me to be the woman of God your created me to be! in Jesus Name!

Now Let's Celebrate Murder!!!!

2/08/2007 Estreitta 1 Comments

I received the following today from the Family Research Council's Weekly Newsletter:

The National Abortion Federation (NAF) is calling on Americans to recognize March 10 as a National Day of Appreciation for Abortion Providers. Millions of women--and unborn children--have little to be thankful for.

One in particular, Rasheedah Dinkins, is still recovering from a botched abortion procedure that nearly killed her. Dinkins' complications started when her clinic, Metropolitan Medical Association (MMA) in New Jersey, failed to supply even the most basic medical necessities--clean surgical instruments. Two weeks after its closure, MMA assured the state health department that the sterilization issues had been addressed. Yet when officials visited the clinic Tuesday, they found that it still flunked the health inspection, leaving women vulnerable to serious risks.

In Illinois, legislators are trying to give minor girls access to facilities like the ones without their parents' consent. Contrary to its name, the Adolescent Health Care Safety Act would allow clinics to inform a teenager's siblings, relatives, doctors, or pastors about the procedure in lieu of her parents. In a world where doctors could lose their license for operating on a child's appendix without consent, a bill like this is shocking. It undermines parents' role--and rights--in preserving the well-being of their daughters. Pro-life measures are fairing better in Oklahoma. With the help of the Oklahoma Family Policy Council, the state's Judiciary Committee passed bills on Tuesday that would: limit government funding of abortion, restrict health insurance from covering abortion procedures, ensure that women have information on abortion alternatives and risks, explain that abortion drugs kill unborn children, and require parental consent for minors.

Popularity of Niceness

2/07/2007 Estreitta 1 Comments

Today my Bestest friend, Mandy, whom I have known since i was ten posted a blog that inspired me to write this, part of it is my response to her blog (which i HIGHLY encourage you to read)

--------------------------------------------

I decided to entitle this blog Popularity of Niceness because i think we need to bring back this trend.

People aren't nice to one another anymore...

People don't even compliment each other when they do something good or even innovative.  We only get noticed if smell good with the latest parfume released by JLO or wearing the something seen on paris hilton.

please... this is totally ridiculous

Most people don't even talk to a neighbor let alone the cashier at the checkout counter.

maybe as my friend mandy suggested it all stems from our high school days of trying to be popular...

I wasn't popular in the sense that i was a cheerleader or a blonde with a normal name like Wendy, Kelley or Stephane... infact i was far from it... But i think I was popular in the sense i knew everyone and everyone knew me and what i stood for.  I was nice to the mean girls and guys and nice to the smelly kid at school.

I did it cause that is was God has called us to do, show love to the unlovable.

Even though i got made fun of and teased all the time... They used to call me Extring been MArtian or Ethiopian or anorexic girl (because I was so skinny i was like 95 pounds when i graduated) I wasn't anorexic in fact i could eat 7 tacos and half a pizza and never gain a pound... anyway girls on the bus put gum put in my hair and  humiliated me infront of everyone in the lunch room. when highschool was over and done with i left (hopefully a good) impression on those i knew and even didn't know. because i was nice to everyone even if they were mad at me.. and the meanest girls actually ended up being nice to me as time went on...

Then I went to a Christian College in MN...  You know I actually had a roomate tell me she was embarrased to be around me because I would always talk about God in public and was always so friendly to check out person.

I think the simplest way to spread God's love is with a simple smile or an acknowledgement that the person is on this earth and that someone noticed them with kindness and offer them inspiration to pay it forward....

Let's begin a trend of niceness and make it popular to be kind to those down and out especially when the media isn't acknowleding it!
